Philosophy includes a wide range of fields, among them the philosophy of law among them which studies in a broad sense the consequences of these or those legislative principles. We should not forget that the matters of good and evil and the concept of justice are referred to as a philosophical discipline which we call ethics, i.e. these are ethical and not legal categories. Therefore the concepts of ‘crime’ and ‘punishment’ should be referred to as philosophical categories, since the law, legal sciences, criminal law and criminology in particular are not able to answer the questions that are of interest here.
