The Institute held a training session for lawyers on Article 6 of the European Convention on Human Rights

“Everyone is entitled to a fair trial by a court in the determination of his civil rights and obligations” - these ideas were delivered at the training on “Article 6 of the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR)” organized by the Institute of Law and Human Rights.

On October 2, the agenda of the training held by expert trainers of the Institute included domestic and international legislation on human rights and their comparative analysis, international legal acts, mechanisms for the protection of human rights, as well as the case law of the European Court of Human Rights, monitoring of human rights, and other current topics.

During the training session, Article 6 of the  (Right to a fair trial) was analyzed from the civil-legal and criminal aspects, at the same time access to court, presumption of innocence, guarantee of the right to defense, in particular the most recognized violations in the judgments issued against Azerbaijan were discussed and an interesting exchange of views was carried out.  

The training, attended by 17 lawyers, continued with the solution of case assignments and extensive discussions on questions of interest to lawyers. At the end, certificates were awarded to the training participants.
