The farewell ceremony with the prominent scientist Lotfi Zadeh was held at the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) on September 29.

The President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, head of the Presidential Administration, academician Ramiz Mehdiyev, US ambassador to Azerbaijan Robert Sekuta, minister of education Mikail Jabbarov, other state and government officials, scientists and cultural figures, intellectuals and public figures attended the ceremony.

The President Ilham Aliyev offered deep condolences to Lotfi Zadeh`s family members, to prof. Jannat Salimova, who participated in the ceremony on behalf of his family.

The President of ANAS, academician Akif Alizada, Minister of Education Mikail Jabbarov, director of the Institute of Management Systems of ANAS, academician Telman Aliyev, director of Institute of Information Technologies, academician Rasim Alguliev, director of the Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics Misir Mardanov, talked about Lutfi Raghim oglu Aleskerzade's contribution to the development of world science, rich scientific creativity, innovations in the field of fuzzy logic. His theories are now widely used in energy, transport, aviation and military spheres, these theories have opened up opportunities for the improvement of people's lives.

The prominent scientist was buried in the 1st Alley of Honor in Baku.

The great scientific ideas of Lutfi Zadeh are distinguished by its longevity, theories of its originality and logic, and it will always live in hearts. Rest in peace!
