Training Conducted for Municipal Representatives in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic
The Institute of Law and Human Rights, a public legal entity (hereinafter ‘the Institute’) organized its next training on municipal activities on December 1 in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. The training, titled “The Human Rights Aspect in Municipal Activities,” was held jointly by the Institute and the Municipal Affairs Department of the Ministry of Justice of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Khayal Eyvazov, Head of the Municipal Affairs Department of the Ministry of Justice of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and Junior Justice Adviser, emphasized the relevance of the topic. He noted that ensuring human rights in the activities of local self-government bodies is one of the key priorities of state policy, and that extensive educational activities in this field are of great importance.
Mr. Hamlet Babayev, acting head of the Human Rights Training and Expertise Department of the Institute, along with trainer-experts Ms. Zumrud Alizade and Mr. Heydar Hasan oghlu Aliyev, delivered presentations on the normative legal acts regulating municipal activities, the organization of their interactions with the state and citizens, as well as the legal foundations of cooperation between local executive authorities and municipalities.
During the training, challenges and existing problems faced by municipalities and citizens in daily practice were analyzed together with participants, and real situations based on the experiences of 33 municipal chairpersons and deputy chairpersons were discussed. The training concluded with an evaluation phase and the presentation of certificates.
