The sessions were jointly undertaken by the Main Department for Work with Municipalities of the Ministry of Justice and the Institute of Law and Human Rights.
Sessions were held in Baku, Ganja, Sumgayit, Shirvan and the Khachmaz district. The program covered the legal framework regulating municipal activities, mechanisms for accountability and transparency, as well as the promotion of  public participation, and the legal basis for citizen engagement.
In total, 177 representatives from municipalities across the country participated – 147 chairs and 30 deputy chairs – including delegates from 44 municipalities in Baku.
The training sessions which have been delivered in an interactive format, facilitated the sharing of practical challenges and the exchange of perspectives among participants.
