Today, a business meeting was held between the Director of the Institute of Law and Human Rights of ANAS, Doctor of Law, Professor Ayten khanum Mustafazadeh and the Head of the Representative Office of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Azerbaijan Vladimir Gjorgjiev. Having considered at the meeting the agenda of current and future events, questions were discussed on the continuation of mutual cooperation in the future.
At the meeting, the director of the institute, Ayten Khanum Mustafazadeh, spoke about the establishment and activities of the Institute of Law and Human Rights and highlighted the research conducted by the Department on Foreigners' Rights and Migration.
Vladimir Gjorgjiev noted that Azerbaijan has a significant number of refugees and migrants in connection with the conflict, the existence of a difficult situation in Azerbaijan and its belief in the success of the perspective from this point of view, and also noted that the International Migration Center, a new project of the International Organization for migration, and he also noted that he believes in the success of the project for the country.
Rasim Agasiev, head of the Department for the rights of foreigners and migration of our institute, suggested that the Institute of Law and Human Rights and the International Organization for Migration should implement a joint project, study the status of migrants in this area and submit it to parliament as a bill.
Then, discussions were held on extending the cooperation of the Institute for Human Rights and the International Organization for Migration and adding new paragraphs to the document.
