On November 10, the Institute’s member staff, Saida Hasanzade, participated in an event dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of an outstanding legal scholar, Doctor of Law, Professor Mammad Khalafov at Baku State University. At the event, the participants were informed that Mammad Khalafov played an invaluable role in the development of legal science in Azerbaijan, in the training of legal personnel, and he was example of a person who left a rich scientific heritage to future generations. At the same time, it was stated that the research conducted by a prominent scientist in the direction of eliminating the problems that arose in legal science after the fall of the People's Republic was a great contribution to science.

It was also emphasized that Mammad Khalafov showed great perseverance in training teachers who taught various fields of law in their native language under the bureaucratic barriers of the Soviet era.  Due to these merits M. Khalafov was awarded the honorary title “Honored Lawyer of Azerbaijan and a number of other orders and medals.
