On December 4-6, 2020, a group of researchers led by a senior researcher at the Institute of law and human rights of ANAS, Director Of the center for the history of the Caucasus, associate Professor Rizvan Huseynov, with the support of the Ministry of culture of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of defense, visited the liberated part of the Aghdam region of Azerbaijan. The state service for the protection, development and restoration of cultural heritage under the Ministry of culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan provided logical support and assistance.
The main purpose of the visit was to study and note the condition of the village of Shahbulag in Aghdam district and the surrounding monuments. There are several important architectural monuments here, in particular, the Shahbulag fortress, built in the middle of the 18th century by the founder of the Karabakh khanate Panah Ali Khan near the Shahbulag spring.
