The Institute of Law and Human Rights held an essay contest for students on the International Day of Peace.

The contest was organized as part of the “Peace Month” declared in Azerbaijan by the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan and held from August 21 to September 21.

The contest aimed to promote a culture of peace and human rights among students, raise awareness of the interrelationship between peace and human rights, and help strengthen an atmosphere of peace and trust.

On September 21, 2026, the Institute welcomed a group of students who participated in the contest: Mahammad Gasimov (a third-year student, BSU’s Faculty of Law), Elvin Akbarzade (a master’s student in International Law, Leiden University in Netherlands), Zahra Mammadova (a third-year student, BSU’s Faculty of Law), Zohra Taghiyeva (a fourth-year student, BSU’s Faculty of Law), Sueda Yildirim (a third-year student, BSU’s Faculty of Law), and Aysu Imamalizade (a fourth-year student, Faculty of Political Governance, Academy of Public Administration).

Vafaddin Ibayev, Deputy Chairman of the Institute’s Board, presented the students with certificates of appreciation in recognition of their creative contributions and successful participation in the contest, as well as copies of the Institute’s publications.

Some of the articles submitted to the contest have been published on the legal platform “e-huquqshunas.az”.
