Training Session Conducted for Civil Servants at the Binagadi District Executive Authority

On December 22, the Institute of Law and Human Rights held a training session on ‘Rules of Ethical Conduct of Civil Servants and Human Rights Aspects in Their Activity’ at the Binagadi District Executive Authority. A total of 60 participants, including employees of the District Executive Authority and representatives of local authorities from other central executive bodies, took part in training which aimed to enhance professional ethics, legal responsibility and human rights-based governance principles among civil servants.

During the presentation on this topic, conducted by Ms. Zumrud Alizade, an expert trainer of the Institute, a number of articles of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan ‘On the Rules of Ethical Conduct of Civil Servants’ were analyzed in detail. Particular emphasis was placed on the obligations of civil servants to respect the rights, freedoms, and legitimate interests of individuals, as well as their honor and dignity, and the business reputation of natural and legal persons. In addition, Ms. Alizade also explained the legal and practical significance of Article 68.1 of the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan and noted that compliance with ethical standards of conduct plays an important role in strengthening mutual trust in relations between the state and citizens.

The training included interactive discussions on case studies based on real-life situations and a question-and-answer session. Participants expressed satisfaction with the training and added that the topic would be useful in their daily professional activities.
