A Lecture on Human Rights Held at the Police Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs

On June 4, 2025, an awareness-raising lecture on the topic “Police Activities and Human Rights Protection” was conducted by the Institute of Law and Human Rights at the Police Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. 60 cadets of the Police Academy participated in the lecture organized by the Institute as a part of the Human Rights Month, observed from May 18 to June 18.

During the lecture, Mr. Hamlet Babayev, an expert trainer of the Institute, provided the participants with extensive information on the fundamental human rights and freedoms enshrined in the 1995 Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan. He also discussed the concept of universal human rights, the activities of the police in ensuring rights and freedoms, as well as international human rights protection mechanisms.

The main objective of the event was to increase the knowledge of Police Academy cadets in the field of human rights, introduce them to modern and international approaches, and encourage them to apply this knowledge in their future professional duties.

The lecture served as a significant contribution to the legal education and professional development of Police Academy cadets, reinforcing the importance of human rights in law enforcement
