Head of the Institute of Law and Human Rights held a meeting with NGOs

On October 31, Chairman of the Board of the Institute of Law and Human Rights Mahammad Guluzade and staff of the Institute held an online meeting with local NGOs operating in the field of law and human rights in the Republic of Azerbaijan. At the meeting, M. Guluzade briefed NGO representatives on the areas specified in the Charter of the Institute, spoke about plans for the future, and also drew attention to the areas in which the Institute can cooperate with NGOs.
The Chairman stated that the Institute performs such tasks as preparing scientific and practical recommendations and comments in various areas of law, including in the field of human rights, holding seminars and trainings in the field of legal education, preparing proposals for draft laws.
At the meeting, NGO representatives stated the importance of improving legislation in the field of women's rights and gender equality, empowering women and social protection of victims of human trafficking.
It was also emphasized the importance of carrying out work towards reducing the number of crimes committed as a result of the use of narcotic and psychotropic substances.
This meeting was attended by about 30 representatives of NGOs and heads of departments of the Institute, from the heads of NGOs Maleyka Alizade, Zaur Ibrahimli, Jasarat Huseynzade, Vafaddin Ibayev, Rasul Jafarov, Irada Rzazade, Mahammad Imanli, Ziba Nabiyeva and others voiced interesting proposals for cooperation with the Institute and exchanged useful ideas.
