The Institute of Law and Human Rights Held a Presentation of a New Publication on Criminal Penalties

On March 12, the Institute of Law and Human Rights hosted the presentation of the book “Criminal Penalties, Their Enforcement, Problems, and Solutions,” authored by Musa Humbatov, a legal scholar and member of the Institute’s Expert Council.

At the event, Elchin Khalafov, Vice Rector of the Justice Academy; Amir Aliyev, Director of the Training Center of the Bar Association; Shahla Samadova, Head of the Department of Criminal Law and Criminology; as well as associate professors of the same department, Jabir Guliyev, Sakinakhanim Rzayeva and Maleyka Bayramova, spoke about the book’s scientific and practical significance and stressed that the study serves as a useful source for research in the field of criminal law.

It was noted that the book provides a comprehensive analysis of the reforms implemented in Azerbaijan aimed to humanize penal policy, expand the application of alternative sanctions, and ensure the reintegration of convicted persons into society.

At the end of the event, the author thanked the participants and stressed that the views and suggestions expressed on the topic would be important for future research.
