On April 19, the Constitutional Court held a scientific and theoretical conference on the topic “Modern theoretical and practical approaches in the field of protecting human rights and freedoms in the 21st century” dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the national leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev.

The conference was attended by Chairman of the Board of our Institute, Mahammad Guluzade, Deputy Chairman of the Board, Uzeyir Mammadov and Acting Head of Legal Research Department, Ilham Aliyev.

 M. Guluzade made a presentation on “The international practice on property claims from the side of the displaced persons”. The report provided information on the possibility of examining property claims of West Azerbaijanis within the UN Ad Hoc institutions, as well as on the experience of the Dayton Commission established for Bosnia and Herzegovina, on the practice of the UN Compensation Commission in relation to the Iran-US Claims Tribunal and the Iraqi-Kuwait conflict. M.Guluzade also expressed his opinion on the future strategy of our country regarding the above given issues.
