Training Sessions on Prisoners' Rights Protection Continued in Salyan, Ganja, and Sheki Cities

In June 2024, the Institute of Law and Human Rights, in collaboration with the Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Azerbaijan, conducted training sessions at the 5th Correctional Facility in Salyan, the 2nd Pretrial Detention Center in Ganja, and the Sheki Penitentiary Institution.
These sessions aimed to enhance the knowledge and expertise of Penitentiary Service personnel in protecting human rights and upholding behavioral standards with inmates.
Trainers from the Institute and the Penitentiary Service delivered training sessions covering topics such as “Prisoners’ rights as delineated by the legislation of the Republic of Azerbaijan”, “The United Nations Standard Minimum Rules for the Treatment of Prisoners”, and “Standards of the European Committee for the Prevention of Torture” to 62 Service personnel in Salyan, Ganja, and Sheki cities.
