On July 11, a meeting of the Steering Committee on “Promoting  media professionalism and freedom of information in Azerbaijan - PRO-M-FEX” project organized by the Council of Europe was held. The Institute of Law and Human Rights was represented at the meeting by the head of Communications and International Relations department, Ilgar Aghasiyev.

 

The event was conducted with the aim of improving the media and information landscape in Azerbaijan by strengthening national legislation and its implementation, as well as enhancing media professionalism.

 

At the meeting, the participants got acquainted with a presentation of the project “Media Professionalism and Freedom of Information in Azerbaijan” and the results achieved during the implementation period. The event also included a brief presentation of the curriculum on conflict journalism, prepared for journalism faculties of Azerbaijani universities.

 

Presentations on such topics as conflict journalism, media and information literacy, the fight against disinformation, the protection of ethical principles in covering socio-political events and which are important for  improving  media skills of the journalists, were also  presented to participants. .
