On June 2, an international conference dedicated to the 120th anniversary of Sureyya Agaoglu, the first female lawyer of the Turkish states, on "Gender equality as part of international human rights" was held in Baku.

The Deputy Chairman of the Management Board, Natavan Rustamova, the head of the Human Rights Training and Expertise Department, Vusala Muradkhanli, and the legal researcher of the Legal Research Department, Saida Hasanzade represented the Institute at the conference jointly organized by the Bar Association of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Chamber of Bars of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

At the event, representatives of the Institute delivered speeches on the protection of human rights in cases associated with gender equality, existing problems in this field and ways to solve these particular problems.

At the end, the conference participants adopted the Joint Declaration on "Ensuring Gender Equality"
