Our institute was represented in Russia

December 10-11, 2018 The Institute of State and Law of the Russian Academy of Sciences, together with the Association of Lawyers of Russia with the support of the Russian Foundation for Basic Research, held an All-Russian scientific conference with international participation “The XXVth Anniversary of the Constitution of the Russian Federation: Transformation of the Legal Paradigm in the Civilizational Development of Humanity”.

Our institute in this conference was presented by the head of the “State and Constitutional Law” department of the Institute of Law and Human Rights of ANAS, doctor of law, associate professor Ayhan Khankishi oglu Rustamzade, giving a presentation on the topic “Modern constitutional reforms in the field of human rights and freedoms in the context of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The report stated that the laws of independent Azerbaijan is significantly different from the laws of the Soviet of Azerbaijan, and in varying degrees, they focus on democratic reforms. These laws take into account human rights guarantees, draw attention to the accountability of all branches of government, social protection of citizens, the creation of a legal framework for a market economy, a civilized solution to the above-mentioned Karabakh conflict, compliance with European standards and much more. The country's leadership is directly interested in reforming the regulatory framework, since the protection of human rights and freedoms ultimately protects the state itself and the law itself from arbitrariness. We can conclude that the activities of law enforcement and other structures are carried out not only in the interests of citizens or organizations, but also in the interests of the state and the whole society. All the above additions and changes are a continuation of the progressive constitutional and legal reforms carried out in our country under the direct supervision of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev, and are essentially aimed at entering the new stage of legal reform.
