The event about the promotion of science through the media and development of scientific journalism was held on January 15, 2015 at the Institute of Geology and Geophysics. The objective is to promote science and to discuss the scientific knowledge, the promotion through the media; and its implementation etc. The senior officials of public relations of academic institutions attended the event arranged by the office of the Office of Public Relations and the popularization of science of the Presidium of ANAS.

The President of ANAS, academician Akif Alizada emphasized the importance of informing the public about the achievements of scientific and technical progress and high level of implementation of these activities at the Information age in the opening speech.  Mentioning the popularization of scientific knowledge and the promotion of science through the media, he highlighted the importance of scientific journalism and extending the professional writers in this field. A. Alizada noting the duties of journalists in the development of scientific-popular articles mentioned that journalist investigating the topics, in particular in the scientific direction are the members of the main activity in revealing the prospects for science. He emphasized that the activity of ANAS, the promotion of scientific results of the researchers plays very important role in informing the public about the actual scientific achievements. The President of ANAS invited the journalists to demonstrate the innovations in science, innovative projects, the most important events, and promote the science in Azerbaijan through media.

The secretary of ANAS, academician R.Aliguliyev, the head of the Office of Public Relations and the popularization of science of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences Zulfugar Farzaliyev spoke about the importance of establishing a high level of policy, information exchange efficiency, informing about a wide range of inventions by young scientists, to promote the scientific perspectives more accurate and readable, to develope the web-sites of institutes and organizations of ANAS, faster transmission of information through electronic media and the duities of the journalists were disscussed.

In the end, the responsible staff for the public relations of the scientific institutions of ANAS gave information about the work done in this field.
