On May 31, the Baku branch of the International Institute for Monitoring the Development of Democracy, Parliamentarism and Observance of the Electoral Rights of Citizens of the Interparliamentary Assembly of the Commonwealth of Independent States (MGIMO PAA CIS) held a video conference on the topic “Social and legal protection of children in the Republic of Azerbaijan: parliamentary dimension”.
Opening the video conference, Director of the Baku branch of the CIS State Institute of Children's Education and Science TeymurMuradov informed the participants that this year the branch conducted a scientific study “social and legal protection of children in the Republic of Azerbaijan: a parliamentary dimension”, as a result of the scientific research, the regulatory framework in the field of social and legal protection of children in our country, the state policy, state programs and reforms, their results, and the experience of international cooperation were analyzed. He also added that the results of the relevant study are presented to the IPA CIS GKDR as the best practices of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the relevant field for consideration in the development of model laws and other regulatory documents within the framework of the IPA CIS.
At the event, the plenipotentiary representative of the Milli Mejlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the IPA CIS, Aydin Jafarov, spoke about the interaction of the IPA CIS, the international institution for monitoring the development of democracy, parliamentarism and observance of electoral rights of citizens and its Baku branch in the field of democracy, human rights and freedoms, Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council .A. Kobitsky made a welcoming speech to the participants of the event.
Deputy Chairman of the Milli Majlis Committee on Family, Women and Children, member of the Milli Majlis delegation to the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly, MP ZhalyaAliyeva, Milli Majlis deputies - members of the Committee on Family, Women and Children SadagatVeliyeva and Ramin Mammadov discussed issues of state children's policy in Azerbaijan, the reforms carried out by our state in this direction, the ongoing work, including issues of ensuring and protecting them.
The video conference ended with a mutual discussion and exchange of interesting ideas.
