The 5th Congress of the Confederation of Trade Unions of Azerbaijan was held

On February 5, the Baku Congress Center hosted the 5th Congress of the Confederation of Trade Unions of Azerbaijan.

The meeting was opened by the chairman of the CCTUA, member of the parliament, deputy chairman of the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC) and vice-president of the Pan-European Regional Council (PERS) Sattar Mogbaliyev.

After the opening speech, Ali Hasanov, aide to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan for Social and Political Affairs, read a congratulatory letter from the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to the participants of the congress.

In accordance with the regulations, the agenda of the Congress was approved, and members of the governing body - the Presidium, the editorial board, mandates and settlement commissions, and members of the secretariat were elected.

Ali Hasanov, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan for Social and Political Affairs, Salim Muslumov, Labor and Social Security Minister, representatives of the Government, 85 international trade union leaders and activists from 30 countries attended the congress. From the Institute of Law and Human Rights of ANAS, the event was attended by Leila Mamedova, chairman of the trade union organization of the Institute.

The chairman of the CCTUA, member of the parliament S.Mogbaliyev delivered a report. He also noted that the leaders of international trade unions highly appreciated the economic reforms in Azerbaijan.

Later, S.Moghaliyev made a proposal to nominate the current president of the country Mr. Ilham Aliyev in the upcoming presidential elections and said that the extraordinary elections will be held on April 11.
