On May 3, 2023, the Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan held scientific-practical conference on topic “National leader Heydar Aliyev and the development of human rights in independent Azerbaijan”, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of great leader Heydar Aliyev. The Chairman of the Board of the Institute, Mahammad Guluzade took part in this event. 

The participants expressed a deep respect for the memory of the Great Leader and discussed his efforts in the direction of development and ensuring human rights in Azerbaijan and also his exceptional role in creating the foundations of the independent mechanism of extrajudicial legal protection - Ombudsman institution. The participants of the event emphasized that our country has achieved success because of progressive reforms carried out by national leader Heydar Aliyev in the direction of socio-political stability, development of the socio-economic, cultural and humanitarian sphere, strengthening our national statehood, protecting human rights and freedoms.
