As part of the series of training on "Protection of Property Rights and the European Convention" organized by the Institute of Law and Human Rights, the event was held on September 28 for employees of the Yasamal District Executive Power.

At the training, Huseyn Afandiyev, First Deputy Head of the Yasamal District Executive Power, spoke about the importance of the issues under discussion and noted the need to take into account not only public interests but also the rights and interests of property owners in the case of administrative intervention.

Hamlet Babayev, Head of Department at the Institute, and trainer-expert Heydar Hasan oghlu Aliyev discussed European legal standards and case law concerning the protection of property.

In their presentations, the trainers addressed situations that may lead to violations of property rights, including the unlawful expropriation of property or its demolition of property without following the relevant procedures, intervention without a court decision in cases where such a decision is required, incorrect calculation of compensation, and delays in payment.

Participants worked on hypothetical situations closely reflecting real-life legal practice and discussed the legal assessment of various forms of intervention and ways to ensure the rights of property owners. The training concluded with an exchange of views and a question-and-answer session.
