Saadat Baktashi
Saadat Baktashi was born on September 25, 1960, in the city of Baku.
From 1977 to 1982, she studied at the Faculty of Law of Azerbaijan State University.
Between 1976 and 1977, she worked as a courtroom secretary at the Binagadi District People’s Court of Baku.
From 1982 to 1984, she served as a trainee state notary at State Notary Office No. 1 in Baku.
From 1984 to 1997, she worked at the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Azerbaijan in various positions, including consultant in the Department for Systematization of Legislation and Drafting of Laws, first-degree specialist in the Department of Soviet Legality, leading specialist in the editorial group of the Collection of Laws, and chief specialist and deputy head of the Department for State Registration of Legal Entities.
From 1997 to 2000, she worked as a senior consultant in the State Legal Department of the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and as a senior referent in the Department for Work with Law Enforcement Agencies of the Presidential Administration.
Between 2000 and 2007, she served as Chairperson of Local Economic Court No. 1 of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
From 2007 to 2010, she worked as a judge at the Baku Court of Appeal and acted as Chair of the Judicial Panel for Economic Disputes.
Between 2010 and 2012, she served as a judge of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan. From 2012 to 2021, she worked as a judge and Chairperson of the Sumgait Court of Appeal.
From 2021 to 2023, she served as a judge at the Baku Court of Appeal, and from 2023 to 2025, she held the position of judge and Chairperson of the Supreme Court of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
From 2002 to 2023, she served as Chairperson of the Association of Specialized Judges of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Between 2005 and 2017, she was Deputy Chairperson of the Qualification Commission of the Bar Association. From 2018 to 2023, she served as Deputy Chairperson of the Board of the Union of Judges’ Associations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and from 2023 to 2025, she was a member of the Judicial-Legal Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Since 2023, she has been a member of the Board of the Azerbaijan Judges’ Union.
By Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated November 21, 2008, she was awarded the “Taraggi” Medal.
