Next training of the Institute was held for employees of Executive Authority of Nizami District

On May 24, 2023, trainers-experts of the "Institute of Law and Human Rights" public legal entity (Institute) conducted training for the employees of the Executive Authority of Nizami District of Baku city. The training covered the topics of "Dealing with citizens' appeals", "State Service and Corruption", "Using social media responsibly" and "Perspectives of cooperation of local executive authorities with NGOs".

Ildirim Mehdiyev, the deputy head of the Nizami District Executive Authority, welcomed the guests and said that the trainings organized by the Institute are of capital importance for the employees of state institutions. Deputy Chairman of the Management Board, Uzeyir Mammadov, gave detailed information about the main goals and duties of the Institute, directions of activity and future training activities. U.Mammadov also talked about the training organized in various regional executive authorities of Baku, in several Police Departments under the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and various penal institutions of the Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice. U. Mammadov said that various legal literature collected in the base of the "Law and Human Rights Virtual Library" dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev, newly established at the Institute, will be even more convenient for lawyers to use.

Trainer-expert Araz Abdullasoy delivered  a speech on the topic of "Dealing with  Citizens' Appeals" and spoke about the significance of the provisions of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On Social Services" and the "National Action Plan for the Promotion of Open Government for 2020-2022". Also, A.Abdullasoy gave a broad explanation to the essence of citizens' appeals to the Online Public Control Platform.

Trainer-expert of the Institute Vusala Muradkhanli, made a presentation on such topics as "Using social media responsibly" and "Perspectives of cooperation of local executive authorities with NGOs". The trainer touched upon the rights of a person to use the social network platform and the subjection to the internet rules when using the right to obtain information. She also emphasized the role of NGOs in ensuring public control and conveying the truths of Azerbaijan to the international community.Trainer Nazrin Aliyeva made a speech on the topic "Civil service and corruption" and informed about cases of subjects of corruption-related offenses, officials obtaining privileges or concessions illegally by using the opportunities arising from their status, the status of the body they represent, and their official powers. She also analyzed the issues of regulation of these problems in the national and international legislation, drawing attention to the statistics of dismissed and arrested officials.

During the discussions, the questions of the employees of the executive authority were answered, a wide range of ideas were exchanged on the topics, and a survey form was filled out for the evaluation of the training.

At the end, certificates were presented to the representatives of the executive authority who participated in the training.
