The head of the Institute gave a speech at the exhibition dedicated to the International Human Rights Day

On December 8, an exhibition dedicated to International Human Rights Day was held under the joint organization of the United Nations Office in Azerbaijan (UN), Ombudsman, Faculty of Law of Baku State University and the Institute of Law and Human Rights (Institute).

At the opening ceremony of the event, the Chairman of Board of the Institute, Mahammad Guluzade, pointed out that the Universal Declaration of Human Rights played a crucial role in the preparation of more than 70 conventions on human rights. He recommended young people to study the document. At the same time, the head of the Institute emphasized the need to respond flexibly and impartially to current violations of human rights, as well as the necessity to improve the activities of UN structure and its institutions.

The exhibition displayed photographs reflecting the evolution of human rights, global challenges and their solutions, highlighting the historical path of the UN, video messages and publications about the articles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

In addition, the most comprehensive articles written by journalists on human rights and the best drawings by children were awarded. At the end, certificates of appreciation were presented to a group of students of the Faculty of Law, who acted in social theater performances.
