The Chairman of the Institute gave a speech at the event dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights

On November 30, the “Human Rights - 75, Baku Conference” dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights was held with the joint partnership of the UN Office in Azerbaijan, the Human Rights Commissioner (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Bar Association of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Faculty of Law of Baku State University.

At the conference, the Chairman of the Board of the Institute, Mahammad Guluzade, delivered a speech as a speaker in a panel discussion on “Protection of human rights in Azerbaijan: achievements and problems”. In his speech, the chairman pointed out that among the global challenges in the field of human rights, the implementation mechanisms of existing international conventions are tenuous, and the response to human rights violations from the side of international organizations is sometimes biased, outdated, and inadequate mentioning the need for improvements in this field. At the same time, he noted that landmines posed a serious problem in the process of resettling our citizens to the territories liberated from occupation and ensuring their human rights and that the international community did not seriously support our country in this process.

In his speech, M. Guluzade expressed his attitude to the negative impact of violence against women, the increasing number of divorces on children's rights, as well as the violation of the educational rights of our students wanting to study abroad with visa refusals by various embassies.
