Presentation of the “Virtual Library of Law and Human Rights” dedicated to the 100th anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev was held

A public presentation of the “Virtual Library of Law and Human Rights” organized by the Institute of Law and Human Rights (Institute) and supported by the UN Development Programme  was held within the framework of declaring 2023 as the “Year of Heydar Aliyev”. The presentation was dedicated to the 100th anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev.

A training dedicated to the 120th anniversary of Sureyya Agaoglu was held at the institute

On May 6, 2023, a training on "Rules of the court session in civil, criminal and administrative proceedings" was held under the joint organization of the Institute of Law and Human Rights and the European Law Students Association. The training took place within the framework of the XII National Court Competition dedicated to the 120th anniversary of Sureyya Agaoglu, the first female lawyer of the Turkish world.

The representative of the institute participated in the conference

On May 8, Uzeyir Mammadov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Institute, took part in the conference "Great Leader Heydar Aliyev is the founder of legal reforms" dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the national leader of  Azerbaijan, Heydar Aliyev, at the Faculty of Law of Baku State University.

The Institute hosted trainings on Articles 3, 5 and 6 of the European Convention on Human Rights  

On May 3-5 the Institute held trainings on Articles 3, 5 and 6 of the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR).  The trainings were organized jointly by the Center for Legal Examination and Legislative Initiatives (Center), the Institute of Law and Human Rights (Institute), the Bar Association of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Council of Europe as a part of a project to support strengthening of the implementation of the European Court's decisions by Azerbaijan.

The head of the Institute took part in the scientific and practical conference

On May 3, 2023, the Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan held scientific-practical conference on topic “National leader Heydar Aliyev and the development of human rights in independent Azerbaijan”, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of great leader Heydar Aliyev. The Chairman of the Board of the Institute, Mahammad Guluzade took part in this event.

Our employee’s article on the right to health in antiquity and the Middle Ages has been published

An article “Formation and development of ideas about the right to health in antiquity and the Middle Ages” of the legal researcher of our Istitute, Zamik Aslanov has been  published. The article was included in the collection of materials of the scientific-theoretical conference of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan “Modern theoretical and practical approaches to the protection of human rights and freedoms in the 21st century”, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of   national leader Heydar Aliyev, for April 19, 2023.

An article “Judicial power and administration of justice” of legal researcher of the Institute, Ilham Aliyev Malik  was included in the collection of materials of the scientific-theoretical conference of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan “Modern theoretical and practical approaches to the protection of human rights and freedoms in the 21st century” dedicated to the 100th anniversary of national leader Heydar Aliyev.
