On December 6, the Institute of Law and Human Rights held an event dedicated to the 100th anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, the 25th anniversary of the Institute of Law and Human Rights, and Human Rights Day.
Chairman of the Board of the Institute of Law and Human Rights, Mahammad Guluzade, was selected as a member of the Judicial-Legal Council.
A public presentation of the “Virtual Library of Law and Human Rights” organized by the Institute of Law and Human Rights (Institute) and supported by the UN Development Programme was held within the framework of declaring 2023 as the “Year of Heydar Aliyev”. The presentation was dedicated to the 100th anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev.
A scientific conference dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Jahangir Karimov, a prominent representative of Azerbaijani legal science, a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, a full member of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, was held on November 4, 2023.
On November 3, 2023, the Center for Legal Examination and Legislative Initiatives held a scientific-practical conference on topic “Legal reforms carried out by National Leader Heydar Aliyev and their importance” dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev.
On November 2, trainers-experts of the Institute of Law and Human Rights held training at Baku State Vocational Education Center for Public Catering and Service. 25 students of the Education Center participated in the training on “Human rights in everyday life” and “Insult and defamation in the social media”.
On November 1, the " Report on the effectiveness and efficiency of legal aid schemes in the areas of civil law and administrative law for vulnerable groups" of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) was presented at the Institute of Law and Human Rights. Representatives of the Center for Legal Examination and Legislative Initiatives, the Institute of Law and Human Rights, UNDP office in Azerbaijan, the Bar Association and a number of NGOs took part in the event.
Chairman of the Board of the Institute of Law and Human Rights, Mahammad Guluzade met with employees of the World Bank representative office in Azerbaijan, Senior Governance Specialist, Eva Melis, Governance expert, Carsten Mahnke and Project Coordinator for the judicial modernization projects in Azerbaijan, Ramin Garagurbanli.
The presentation of the report on “Hate crimes and hate speech against Azerbaijanis” jointly organized by the Social Research Center (SRC) and the Human Rights Commissioner (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan was held at the SRC on October 30.
On October 26, within the framework of the 100th anniversary of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, there was held a court simulation “Expected trial” dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the establishment of the Faculty of Law at Baku State University.
Aygul Jahangirova, an employee of the Institute of Law and Human Rights, participated in the training conducted by the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights on “UN human rights monitoring mechanisms” organized with the financial support of the European Union on October 20.
The series of training courses on Articles 3 and 6 of the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR), within framework of joint cooperation between the Institute and Council of Europe Directorate General of Human Rights and Rule of Law has been completed.
On October 6, the Institute of Law and Human Rights conducted training for lawyers at the Bar Association of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
