On December 6, the Institute of Law and Human Rights held an event dedicated to the 100th anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, the 25th anniversary of the Institute of Law and Human Rights, and Human Rights Day.
Chairman of the Board of the Institute of Law and Human Rights, Mahammad Guluzade, was selected as a member of the Judicial-Legal Council.
A public presentation of the “Virtual Library of Law and Human Rights” organized by the Institute of Law and Human Rights (Institute) and supported by the UN Development Programme was held within the framework of declaring 2023 as the “Year of Heydar Aliyev”. The presentation was dedicated to the 100th anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev.
On May 7, trainer-experts of the Institute of Law and Human Rights conducted a training on the topics of “Consideration of citizens' appeals”, “Corruption, bribery and ethical behavior” and “Responsibility in social networks” in the Executive Power of the Garadagh District.
On May 3rd, the Chairman of the Board of the Institute of Law and Human Rights Mahammad Guluzade delivered a speech at a scientific and theoretical conference organized by the Constitutional Court on the occasion of the 101st anniversary of the birth of national leader Heydar Aliyev, on the topic "Modern Theoretical and Practical Approaches in the Field of Human Rights Protection in the 21st Century."
The Institute of Law and Human Rights organized a round table discussion with the objective of creating a unified electronic search database of scientific legal journals for scholarly journals published in the field of law, whilst also augmenting research capabilities in designated legal domains, including human rights, and consolidating legal publications into a singular database.
On April 26, the Institute of Law and Human Rights conducted a training for employees of the Khazar district Executive Power on the topics of “Consideration of citizens' appeals”, “Corruption, bribery and ethical behavior” and “Responsibility in social networks”.
The Institute of Law and Human Rights regularly conducts training sessions on the protection of human rights and freedoms for employees of various government agencies. As a part of the training sessions in this field, the Institute’s trainers-experts held a session on April 23 for 25 employees of the Executive Power of the Pirallahi district.
On April 8, within the framework of cooperation between the Institute of Law and Human Rights and the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, a webinar was held on the topic “Rights of persons with disabilities and children in international conventions”.
On March 6, a round table on “International legal responsibility for the crime of genocide" was held within the framework of cooperation of the Institute of Law and Human Rights and the Bar Association of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
On March 4th, a new appointment was made to the position of Vice Chairman of the Board of the Institute of Law and Human Rights.
The article authored by Aygun Arifli, a legal researcher of the Institute, entitled “Impact of the application of artificial intelligence on human rights” was published in the issue of the scientific legal journal “Law” No. 01 (351) of 2024.
