On December 6, the Institute of Law and Human Rights held an event dedicated to the 100th anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, the 25th anniversary of the Institute of Law and Human Rights, and Human Rights Day.
Chairman of the Board of the Institute of Law and Human Rights, Mahammad Guluzade, was selected as a member of the Judicial-Legal Council.
A public presentation of the “Virtual Library of Law and Human Rights” organized by the Institute of Law and Human Rights (Institute) and supported by the UN Development Programme was held within the framework of declaring 2023 as the “Year of Heydar Aliyev”. The presentation was dedicated to the 100th anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev.
An article authored by the legal expert of the Institute Araz Abdullasoy entitled “The right of our compatriots to return to their historical homeland” was published in the issue of “Xalq qəzeti” No. 252 (30368) of 19 November 2023.
On 20 November 2023, an online meeting themed “National Implementation Strategy and Action Plan of the Working Group on the enforcement of resolutions and judgments of the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) by the Republic of Azerbaijan” was held within the framework of the project of the Council of Europe (CoE) entitled “Support for the improvement of the execution of the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) judgments by Azerbaijan”.
On November 17, an international conference on "European Convention on Human Rights and Azerbaijan: achievements and perspectives" was held under the joint organization of the Faculty of Law of Baku State University and the Representation of the Council of Europe in the Republic of Azerbaijan.
On November 7, a joint event dedicated to Victory Day and State Flag Day was held by the Departments of Humanitarian and Social Sciences of the Presidium of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), together with the Trade Union of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS).
On November 4, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Mine Action Agency (ANAMA) and the Milli Majlis Committee for Natural Resources, Energy and Ecology held a public hearing themed “Combating the Landmine Threat - Impact of Explosive Ordnance on the Ecosystem”.
A scientific conference dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Jahangir Karimov, a prominent representative of Azerbaijani legal science, a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, a full member of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, was held on November 4, 2023.
On November 3, 2023, the Center for Legal Examination and Legislative Initiatives held a scientific-practical conference on topic “Legal reforms carried out by National Leader Heydar Aliyev and their importance” dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev.
On November 2, trainers-experts of the Institute of Law and Human Rights held training at Baku State Vocational Education Center for Public Catering and Service. 25 students of the Education Center participated in the training on “Human rights in everyday life” and “Insult and defamation in the social media”.
On November 1, the " Report on the effectiveness and efficiency of legal aid schemes in the areas of civil law and administrative law for vulnerable groups" of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) was presented at the Institute of Law and Human Rights. Representatives of the Center for Legal Examination and Legislative Initiatives, the Institute of Law and Human Rights, UNDP office in Azerbaijan, the Bar Association and a number of NGOs took part in the event.
Chairman of the Board of the Institute of Law and Human Rights, Mahammad Guluzade met with employees of the World Bank representative office in Azerbaijan, Senior Governance Specialist, Eva Melis, Governance expert, Carsten Mahnke and Project Coordinator for the judicial modernization projects in Azerbaijan, Ramin Garagurbanli.
